SHL Lures, which is now operating under the Fish Head brand, announced during this week's ICAST trade show in Orlando that it has signed a sponsorship deal with professional angler Wesley Strader.
A fixture on the FLW Tour and on the B.A.S.S. open circuit, Strader is fresh off a 20th-place finish at last week's Bass Pro Shops Northern Open on the James River.
"We are proud to announce our partnership with Wesley as we continue to grow the Fish Head brand in the industry,” said David McNeill, part of the Fish Head ownership team. “Wesley has been a touring pro for 17 years and is known on tour for being a great fisherman and a very likeable guy. He is an ambassador for the bass fishing industry, and we are excited to partner with someone of his caliber."
Fish Head is most known as the designers of the original Fish Head Spin lure.
“I know this brand will resonate with Fish Heads everywhere and I am very excited to be working with this new team to help build the Fish Head brand,” Strader said. “I’m a Fish Head and have been ever since my dad dropped me on my head in front of the fishing aisle at the local tackle shop. I have used the Fish Head Spin and Fish Head Dude throughout my career and know the product line well."
In 15 career tournaments with B.A.S.S., Strader has notched four Top 10 finishes.
