5 Elites pick their top jig trailers
Elite Series pros share their favorite jig trailers, and the secrets to using them!

Bill Lowen is big on jigs. His Tightlines jig trailers are enhanced with UV brighteners. They include the UV Beaver. UV Jig Craw and the UV Bubba Craw Chunk in two sizes.
âI use the Bubba Craw Chunk when Iâm after big bass,â Lowen says. 1/17
Lowenâs go-to combination is a 5/16-ounce D&L Jigâs Baby Advantage dressed with a Tightlines UV Beaver.
âI get lots of bites with this compact bait,â Lowen says. 2/17
When fishing offshore with a football jig, Lowen dresses the hook with a UV Jig Craw, which is half solid and half hollow.
âI stroke this bait and drag it on the bottom,â Lowen says. 3/17
Todd Faircloth reveals his most productive Strike King KVD Perfect Plastic jig trailers, the Rage Craw, Baby Rodent and Game Hawg. 4/17
The Rage Craw dresses Fairclothâs football and swimming jigs.
âThe Rage Craw has a crazy flapping action,â Faircloth says. âYou canât beat it.â 5/17
When Faircloth fishes a football jig, it is dressed with Strike Kingâs Game Hawg 90% of the time. âItâs got a more compact swimming action,â Faircloth says. âSometimes bass want something a little less aggressive.â 6/17
Faircloth clips the tail off of a Baby Rodent, runs a toothpick through it sideways and then clips off the excess wood. He dressed a jig with the tail as you would do with a regular chunk. The toothpick prevents the rodentâs tail from ripping off too readily. 7/17
Cliff Pirch’s company, Clifford Pirch Outdoors, makes his low-profile jig for fishing in clear water. It features a short shank, medium wire, wide gap hook. Note the two long strands of rubber that mimic a crawdad’s feelers. 8/17
Cliff Pirch’s three favorite jig trailers include (from bottom) a Super Pork chunk, which is no longer made, a twintail and a Sweetwater Craw with half its body pinched off. The Sweetwater Craw is no longer available, but Pirch is negotiating to produce it through his bait company. 9/17
Alton Jones is known for his ability to fish jigs. Here it holds three of his go-to YUM jig trailers, the F2 Craw Chunk, the F2 Baby Craw Papi and the Chunk. 10/17
âF2 Craw Chunk has the most active claw action Iâve ever seen on a plastic craw,â Jones says. âI like to swim it with a Booyah 1/2-ounce jig.” 11/17
âI go to the regular Chunk when Iâm fishing a jig with a big hook in heavy cover,â Jones says. 12/17
âThe Baby Craw Papi is a great match for a little Booyah Bed Bug Finesse Jig,â Jones says. âI fish this bait a lot in lakes that have rocky cover.â 13/17
Kenyon Hill is all smiles above his three top jig trailers, all made by Zoom. They include the Ulta Vibe Speed Craw, Z-Hog and Baby Brush Hog. 14/17
âI like the big profile of a jig with a Z-Hog,â Hill says. âIt really moves a lot of water. I mainly use it as a flip and pitch bait.â 15/17
âI fish a jig with th Baby Bush Hog when bass want something that has a sight movement,â Hill says. âThatâs when those slender twintails do the job.â 16/17
âThe Ultra Vibe Speed Craw just has an awesome action,â Hill says. âIt really comes through for me when I pitch it next to bridge pilings and willow trees with some depth under them and let it sink straight to the bottom.â 17/17
