On Memorial Day weekend Chris Lane’s 11th Annual Reeling in Future Pros Kids Camp and 4th Annual Foodland Bass Tournament were held in Guntersville, Ala. The events introduce fishing to kids, raise money for the local high school fishing teams, and help celebrate the importance of Food. Family. Fun. Fishing. in the town of Guntersville.

On Friday night, May 25, Foodland hosted 200 teams of anglers vying for a guaranteed $10,000 prize.  Sponsors of the team tournament were Bryan Meats, the flavor of the South, Jack Links, Frito Lay, Borden, Gatorade, Bass Pro Shops, and River Rocks Plantation Tiny Home Community in Guntersville, TH Marine, and the sponsors of Chris Lane Fishing.

Fellow Elite Series angler Justin Lucas pitched in and ran the Pro Angler Station where the campers rigged up their brand-new Bass Pro Shops rod and reel combos.  Devin Campbell also helped.

Lots of fish were brought to the scales thanks to help from dedicated D.A.R. high school volunteers and the kids’ new rod and hooks from Eagle Claw.

The camp has hosted over 1,200 kids during its 11 years.

As the camp ended the Foodland Bass Team Tournament teams began to check in. Jerry Nydam served as tournament director.

The River Rocks Plantation Big Bass paid $1,000 to the winner and $500 to second place.  This 7.94 largemouth took the runner-up spot.

But paired with two other solid fish the team of Charles Thompson & Walt Mullins weighed 19.63 (3 fish) to take the win.
