BARTLETT, Ill. – As 2021 draws to an end and you consider your year-end tax position, Take a Vet Fishing and Operation Outdoor Freedom – both 501(c)3 not-for-profit organizations – ask that you consider making a tax-deductible donation in any amount to help support their critical, combined mission of healing the psychological wounds of our nation’s veterans.
Beginning today and continuing through December 31, any individual making a tax-deductible donation to either organization through DONORVIEW will receive an entry to win a St. Croix Legend Tournament 70MLF spinning rod and a matching seven-bearing spinning reel with a retail value of $340. Both winners will be drawn at random and notified on January 1.
Both Take a Vet Fishing and Operation Outdoor Freedom exist for the sole purpose of improving the lives and health of our nation’s heroes. Since 2015, the organizations have combined to treat nearly 1,000 U.S. Veterans from all eras of service to high-quality outdoors experiences intended to promote psychological healing; taken over 500 children of fallen soldiers fishing; and documented the heroic stories of over 50 Veterans on their Operation: Outdoor Freedom television show on Discovery Channel and other regional and national networks. Additionally, Take a Vet Fishing and Operation Outdoor Freedom have arranged and paid for PTSD treatment for over 100 individual Veterans since 2019.
