Irving, TX – Yamamoto Baits, the leader in premium soft baits and fishing accessories, is thrilled to announce their newest partnership with pro angler and B.A.S.S. Elite Series competitor, Jacob Powroznik.
Powroznik, of Prince George, VA, requalified for the 2022 B.A.S.S. Elite Series by taking last year’s Bassmaster Opens Angler of the Year title, by more than 100 points. It was the latest accomplishment in a long list of top-tier performances throughout his career.
“I’m super excited to partner with Yamamoto Baits as I head into the upcoming Bassmaster Classic and Elite series season,” said Powroznik. “Like most everyone, I’ve used their products my entire career and after seeing the direction and vision of the new leadership, I’m looking forward to being part of the team. Their angler-focused approach to innovation is something I think I can bring value to as we design products that carry on the tradition of the brand.”
Founded by Gary Yamamoto, Yamamoto Baits was incorporated into the GSM Outdoors family of brands last year. For 2022, Yamamoto Baits will leverage its parent affiliation to bring an even broader range of performance-driving fishing products to the fishing community. Partnering with a successful, professional angler, like Jacob will further advance the Yamamoto Baits brand and product innovation.
“I have known Jacob for a while through fishing tournaments and mutual friends,” said Crispin Powley, Vice President of Fishing, GSM Outdoors. “We’ve always had awesome conversations surrounding fishing and hunting but more specifically, lure design. He’s a guy that I’ve always wanted to work with and when that opportunity came about, we seized it.”
“I’m excited to utilize his knowledge and experience when designing new Yamamoto baits that anglers will come to rely on. He’ll also be a valuable ambassador and resource for several of our hunting and outdoors brands, as well. At the end of the day, Jacob is an extraordinary outdoorsman and the kind of guy we’re proud to work with as we strive to introduce products that add value to the marketplace and the experience of our customers.”
