But Snowden still has hope. If an angler who already qualified for the Classic through the Tour were to finish in the top 10 of the upcoming Bassmaster Elite 50 series, they would double qualify for the Classic and the next angler down on the list of Tour points could pack their bags for Charlotte, N.C.
2004 Bassmaster Classic: Qualifiers
12 of the participants in the 2004 Bassmaster Classic have known for a long time that they had qualified for the event.
Gerald Swindle will be fishing his fifth Classic, but this year will be different as he's Bassmaster's Angler of the Year this time.

5 anglers will be representing the Carolina's at the 2004 Bassmaster Classic on Lake Wylie.
Lake Wylie is just as fresh as ever, with a youthful renewal that shows itself year after year.
"The fish are biting really well," said Lake Wylie resident and South Carolina pro Jason Quinn. "It's going to change a lot between now and the Classic, though.
The spots aim to raise awareness of the Bassmaster Classic, providing a better understanding of what the sport is all about while positioning the event as an entertaining and worthwhile viewing experience.
