KVD cranks out another victory

A seven-ounce lead over the Tiger Woods of bass fishing going into Sunday simply wasn't enough for Jeff Kriet. And once again Kevin VanDam proved why it's appropriate to associate his name with the dominant golfer on the PGA tour.

VanDam officially unofficial new AOY leader

Nothing is official in Toyota Tundra Angler of the Year points until the final standings are complete in a Bassmaster Elite Series tournament. It's a difficult point system to explain in a few words, but the winner of a tournament earns 300 points, and he can add a few more points to that total by being the tournament leader on any of the four days (five points per day).

Right Place, Right Time

Another constant theme you've heard from the pros this week has been timing being in the right place at the right time. McClelland, who won the Sooner Run last year and lives an hour away in Bella Vista, Ark., knows this lake as well as anyone.

Swimbaits coming into play at Grand

Swimbaits have been the "new" hot lure on the Bassmaster Elite Series circuit this season. In stops at Lake Amistad (on the Texas-Mexico border) and The Delta and Clear Lake (in California) these oversize soft- and hard-plastic lures have been the key for several pros joining "The Century Club" catching 20 bass weighing over 100 pounds, during the course of a four-day, five-bass-limit-per-day Elite Series tournament.

Keys to Success

For the final day of the Sooner Run presented by Longhorn Moist Snuff, ESPNOutdoors.com asked the final 12 anglers the keys to their success: 1. What specific technique has benefited you most? 2. What has been your primary bait? And 3. What area of the lake have you been fishing?

Shootout set

"Shootout" was the word most often heard at the Sunday morning start of the Sooner Run presented by Longhorn Moist Snuff.
