Bassmaster Elite Series Pros Face Tough Conditions in Sunshine Showdown

$673,150 in cash to the top 50 Elite pros, and valuable points in the race for the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year award. In addition to crowning the final Elite Series event winner of 2007, one angler will emerge as the winner of bass fishing's highest honor: the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year title. Also to be awarded: the Toyota Rookie of the Year award, and the Toyota Moving Forward Award. Additionally, 36 Bassmaster Classic berths will be awarded to the Elite anglers with the highest number of points, and the top 84 anglers in the AOY standings will qualify for the 2008 season.

Triple success for junior rookie

Khris Williams burst onto the tournament scene earlier this year when the North Carolina Junior Bassmasters hosted an event. The 13-year-old took second place even though it was his first tournament.

Road Less Traveled

The hot spots might just be too hot to produce the winning pattern in the Sunshine Showdown presented by Allstate Boat Insurance, a local BASS official says.

The Ultimate Angler

Inspired by Mary Shelley (and a little Mel Brooks) ESPNOutdoors.com decided to create what we believe is the unbeatable, unshakable, brilliantly talented, funny, quick-witted, jig-droppin', power-finesse throwin', swimbaitin', patiently-quick and in a word, perfect, angler.

Bassmaster Elite Series Season Finale Favorites

Known as Florida fisheries experts and backed by strong seasons on the Bassmaster Elite Series, both Florida pros Terry Scroggins and Chris Lane are considered by pundits as favorites to win next week's Sunshine Showdown presented by Allstate Boat Insurance on Lake Tohopekaliga of Kissimmee, Fla.

Toho Showdown

The northernmost lake of the Kissimmee Chain is known to most folks as Lake Toho. Its full and proper name is Tohopekaliga, a hard name to spell and an even harder one to correctly pronounce.
