Zona's Bio
Mark Zona is well-known as a passionate and opinionated angler and expert analyst when it comes to tournament bass fishing. His sharp, insightful analysis and encyclopedic knowledge of all things bass made him a natural choice for the feature reporter position with ESPN Outdoors.
It's no surprise that Mark Zona earned his reputation in the industry with a rod and reel in his hand.
He fished his first bass tournament at the age of nine and still occasionally fishes competitively. Since earning his associate's degree in 1994, he's held jobs in virtually every corner of the sport of bass fishing — as a guide, a tournament director, a manufacturer's representative and a semi-professional angler.
Zona has appeared as a host on several ESPN Outdoors shows, including Loudmouth Bass, BassCenter, The Greatest Angler Debate, Bassmaster Elite Series, College Smash-Mouth Bass Championship, Oh Boy! Oberta Redfish Cup and The World's Greatest Fishing Show
