“Get comfortable because we aren’t going anywhere, anytime soon.”
And with that announcement by Dave Mercer, the fog delay begins at Dayton Boat Dock. The fog is getting thicker, rolling into Richland Creek off the Tennessee River channel.
There is no way of knowing how long the delay will last, although being from this area it usually burns off by 9 a.m. local time. The original launch time was set for 7:30 a.m.
The early bite has been slow, as many of the anglers are having the best success from midday on, as the water temp warms up and stimulates bait and bass activity.
What will matter is lost fishing time, and that is critical at this point in the season when guys needing to make up points need as much fishing time as possible.
Stay tuned, we’ll send an update when it’s finally “go time.”
