Dick’s Sporting Goods to sponsor 2012 Classic Expo

Dick’s Sporting Goods has signed on to be the presenting sponsor for the 2012 Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo in February.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Dick’s Sporting Goods has signed on to be the presenting sponsor for the 2012 Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo in February.

Arguably the largest bass fishing expo in the country, the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods opens Feb. 24 at the Shreveport Convention Center. During the 2009 Bassmaster Classic in Shreveport-Bossier City, a record 107,600 people attended throughout the show’s three days. A second record was shattered with a turnstile tally of 60,123 on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, easily setting the expo’s one-day attendance record.

Scores of big-name makers of fishing tackle, boats, motors and other outdoor products for freshwater and saltwater anglers are signing up to exhibit at the 2012 expo.

In addition to exhibitors on the list — which is subject to expansion, the show roster will include B.A.S.S. itself, as well as B.A.S.S. official sponsors, including Toyota, Bass Pro Shops, Berkley, Evan Williams Bourbon, Humminbird, Mercury, Minn Kota, Skeeter Boats, Triton Boats and Yamaha.

There is free admission to the expo, and it will run concurrently with the Bassmaster Classic competition days, Friday-Sunday, Feb. 24-26. The expo also features live updates from the water with BASSTrakk in the B.A.S.S. booth; giveaways by B.A.S.S.’s sponsors; fishing seminars; and B.A.S.S. official Classic merchandise.

Hours will be noon to 8 p.m.CT Friday, Feb. 24; 10 a.m.-7 p.m. CT Saturday, Feb. 25; and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. CT Sunday, Feb. 26, just before the final weigh-in of the 42nd Bassmaster Classic takes place at the CenturyLink Center.
