Angling the waters of the Tennessee River system

Known for its diverse fishing opportunities, the Tennessee River system is a favorite among both professional and recreational anglers. At the 2023 Bassmaster Classic, outdoor writer and professional guide Brad Wiegmann chatted with top anglers to uncover what makes these waters truly special.

The Tennessee River system lakes stretch from East Tennessee to where the river merges with the Ohio River in Paducah, Kentucky.   While most anglers have their favorites lakes in the system, we wanted to find out which lakes are top of mind for fishing all the bass- largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted.
