Huk has partnered up with REPREVE® to incorporate recycled materials into the Waypoint collection of clothing. Although this review will focus primarily on the Huk Waypoint Hoodie, the Waypoint collection also includes long sleeve performance shirts, shorts, pants, women’s hoodies, and women’s shorts. The Waypoint collection is made from 95% recycled polyester with 5% spandex. That’s not a typo, it’s really 95% recycled material! The material is made of recycled water bottles that are cleaned, crushed, melted and stretched into fibers that are woven into yarns. On average, nine recycled bottles are used to create one item in the Waypoint collection. Not only is the Waypoint collection great for the environment, it’s extremely comfortable and lightweight.
How do I use it?
The Waypoint Hoodie is a great choice for any hardcore angler who puts in his time on the water. Huk’s newest hoodie comes with a 50+ UPF rating which provides the ultimate protection from the sun. Naturally when we think of Huk, we tend to associate it as harsh weather gear but this hoodie is so lightweight and durable that it makes it a great option to wear in other circumstances such as working out, hiking, camping, or watching a ball game.
