WBT Tournament Director Deb Wilkinson was awarded the Arkansas Traveler Award from the Governor's Office during the most recent Academy Sports + Outdoors WBT event at Lake Maumelle in Little Rock, Ark.
Wilkinson, a native Arkansan, is pleased to receive the award that is bestowed upon out-of-state visitors for promoting the Natural State.
"There is such rich natural history that is embedded in Arkansas. It's a wonderful place not a lot of people know about," she said. "It's like a hidden secret waiting to be explored."
Wilkinson is a strong promoter of her home state, which the WBT frequents thanks to her.
"Being a native Arkansan, it was extra special receiving the award here in Little Rock," she said.
The Arkansas Traveler Certificate was first given to Theodore Roosevelt in 1941. For winning the award, Wilkinson received a print of "The Turn of the Tune," which depicts the story of the Arkansas Traveler, an out-of-state wanderer who fell in love with Arkansas' natural beauty and people.
