What is it?
Simms’ new Solarflex line of performance shirts.
What does it do?
Keeps you cool and protected from the sun on hot summer days.
How do I use it?
Wear it instead of a cotton T-shirt and you’ll stay cooler and drier; this stuff wicks moisture away from your skin, so you don’t feel all sticky. Plus, it’s lightweight and you hardly notice it’s there.
What sets it apart?
The SolarFlex Hoody is such a simple and brilliant idea that you’ll wonder why you never thought of it. Buffs — the face and neck covers —are great, right? Well, this has got one built right into it. The collar is super long to come up over your head and has a mesh area where your mouth is so you don’t get all hot where you’re breathing. The fabric is Simms’ own COR3, which is about as fancy as it gets in the world of technical fishing fabrics. It’s antimicrobial so you don’t stink, and it’s also UPF 30+ rated, so it’s like wearing sunscreen. Loops on the ends of the sleeves protect the backs of your hands from the sun, too.
