LAS VEGAS — ICAST, or the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades, gets under way tomorrow in Las Vegas. It’s where manufacturers big and small roll out their latest wares for the upcoming year to wow anglers and the angling media.
The 2012 show reported a total of 9,000 attendees, which included 3,000 buyers and more than 760 media representatives. Overall, there was a 23 percent increase in attendance and a 25 percent increase in buyers from years past.
Over the next three days, Bassmaster.com will be bringing you nearly live up-to-the-minute reports of great finds of new products, as well as celebrity sightings (Elite Series pro Ott DeFoe saw Bill Dance riding first-class from Tennessee en route to Las Vegas) and info on the state of the industry. Look for input from pundits and industry veterans such as Dave Precht, the long-time editor of Bassmaster Magazine. Our on-the-floor reporters will also be giving you the latest in the Live Blog.
For the time being, however, check out our preview photo galleries here and here.
See you in Vegas.
