RACINE, Wis. – A deserving member of the fishing community will get the surprise of a lifetime as his bass boat gets a full makeover from Humminbird and Minn Kota at the American Sportfishing Association’s 2019 International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST), July 10-12 in Orlando, Fla.
The unsuspecting recipient is a passionate angler, active member of the fishing community and Desert Storm veteran who dedicates his free time to instilling a love of fishing in young people. The angler’s bass boat will go through a complete bow to transom overhaul in booth #217 during ICAST, through a live installation of the One-Boat Network including Minn Kota, Humminbird and Talon products along with a bevy of marine and fishing performance products from other ICAST exhibitors.
The build will include installations of a Minn Kota Ultrex with built-in MEGA Down Imaging, Minn Kota on-board Precision charger, two Minn Kota Talons, two Humminbird SOLIX® 15 CHIRP MEGA SI+ G2 units, Humminbird 360 Imaging and LakeMaster mapping. In addition to Minn Kota and Humminbird electronics, products from other ICAST exhibitors including Rigid Industries, T-H Marine, JL Audio, Bass Mafia and more will be utilized. The entire overhaul will be streamed live across Minn Kota and Humminbird’s Facebook pages.
Every year, the entire fishing industry converges in Orlando to show off new technology and innovation being offered to anglers. This year, Minn Kota and Humminbird will hold the first-ever completely interactive booth space where an actual angler’s boat will be updated with the industry’s leading products, and put on the water for everyone to see how the products work together to deliver a better angling experience.
“The One-Boat Network is a system that gives anglers the ability to get a clear picture of what’s under the water around them and then control the boat’s movement and positioning to fish more effectively,” said Joe Brown, senior director of brand management for Johnson Outdoors Marine Electronics. “We figured the best way to demonstrate that was to actually install the product on a boat, live at the show, and then put it on the water and go fishing. And while we were at it, it only made sense to find someone particularly deserving to be the recipient of this boat overhaul.”
The One-Boat Network is an integrated system which unlocks communication opportunities between Minn Kota and Humminbird products, including Talon shallow water anchors, to help anglers find, stay on and catch fish. Minn Kota and Humminbird products are respectively best-in-class in locating fish and fish-holding structure and enabling anglers to navigate to fishing spots and stay in place effortlessly. The unsuspecting and deserving angler will be rewarded with a day on the water on his freshly-rigged boat with MLF Bass Pro Tour professional angler Brandon Palaniuk and Bassmaster Elite Series professional angler Chris Zaldain on Friday, July 12, which will also be streamed live across Minn Kota and Humminbird’s Facebook pages, and live in ICAST booth #217.
