What is it?
Gear Review: ScentLok OZ Radial EZ
What sets it apart?
Call it chemical weaponry for the war against outdoor odors. The ScentLok OZ Radial EZ leverages ozone’s chemical makeup to neutralize the nose-bending odors from bait well residue, dirty coolers, damp clothing and well-worn shoes. AKA “trioxygen,” ozone comprises three oxygen atoms, the third of which tends to break away and attach to other nearby molecules. When the oxygen atom bonds to a molecule with a distinct odor, the new compound eliminates any recognizable odor.
How do I use it?
An all-in-one, portable, rechargeable ozone generator, the OZ Radial EZ delivers a stout, 360-degree ozone stream with multiple operating modes. The space-conscious canister shape fits upright into most cup or bottle holders, but also lies flat or hangs from a tether strap. Made With a built-in USB port, the Radial EZ runs up to eight hours on a single charge. Available in Marine White, Black or Mossy Oak Elements, this device uses CycleClean technology to moderate its output by alternating between active and resting phases for maximum efficiency and longer product life.

Angler’s insight:
I’m all about the 70s throwback vibe, but that’s the only time I’d consider the term “funky” acceptable. All other activities, no thanks. I reckon most folks share my olfactory sensitivity, so a gadget built to literally knock funky smells out of the air is welcome in my world. I see this as a blend of necessity, convenience and relationship advocacy, as it addresses the kind of issues — bacteria, mold, mildew, fungus — we’ll eventually have to deal with prior to them crossing our significant other’s radar.
