What is it?
Leatherman Skeletool KBX
What sets it apart?
Known for its broad array of multi-tools, Leatherman builds on the success of the sleek and ultra light Skeletool multi-tool family with the addition of two new pocket knives, the Skeletool KB and KBx. Both single-blade, lockable knives, the KB and KBx fit well with the industry’s “naked knife” trend and provide a convenient option for everyday carry. Sized to slip into your pocket, but both include a removable pocket clip with a built-in bottle opener.
How do I use it?
The Skeletool KB includes a strong 2.6-inch 420 HC stainless steel straight blade that’s easily sharpened and easily opened with one hand. Weighing 1 1/2 ounces, this knife has a closed length of 3 1/2 inches and includes a lanyard ring. The KBx mirrors the KB, except for its addition of a serrated edge. The Skeletool KB is available in black, while the KBx offers three colors: Stainless steel, sublime (green) and denim (blue).

Angler’s insight:
Growing up in the South, pocket knives (aka “frog stickers”) were as much a part of daily dress as shoes and socks. Needless to say, when knife makers started including pocket clips, these utility items became more convenient, especially when other odds and ends crowd your pocket. Only downside is that a bulky pocketknife feels like an anchor tugging on the lightweight fabric of modern fishing pants. The Skeletool knives offer plenty of solidity without weighing you down.
