The newest model to the G2 ice unit, Humminbird has introduced the G3 model of the Helix ice fishing set up. Features include dual spectrum chirp sonar with target separation down to 3/4-inch, chirp IR (interference reduction) to reduce unwanted noise and ensure clean readings, adjustable zoom sonar with 2X zoom on flasher mode and 2-8X on 2D sonar, built-in GPS and mapping to find and save locations where fish are and new features autochart live on ice and jig charge mode to keep the glow jigs glowing. The unit is a jam-packed ice machine.
How do I use it?
The easy-to-use carry case houses the battery, transducer and the unit. Switch between 2D Sonar and flasher mode for full-screen action or take advantage of the split-screen view for the best of both. The GPS mapping capabilities with this helix 7 ice unit allows you to mark your favorite spots to be able to return another day. The unit has a micro-sd card slot to transfer waypoint to and from. Quickly import waypoints that were marked on other units from the open water season to return on ice to take advantage of the offshore structure. The back of the case opens for easy access for charging and the front for use on the ice. With the available all-season model, the unit can be used on the boat or on the ice.
