Fortified by a hard machine-cut super metal housing, the Ryoga features a free-floating flat-bottom, lightweight G1 grade extra-strong Duraluminum spool that utilizes Daiwa’s Speed Shaft technology. With the pinion riding a separate shaft, the spool spins freely, with no hindering gear train friction.
How do I use it?
The Ryoga uses a Magforce Z system that brakes the cast at the start, then releases for longer distances. This reel also includes a hyper mesh gearing system with more tooth contact, a Carbon Ultimate Tournament Drag for maximum stopping power bearings that are magsealed to prevent water and dirt intrusion. The 90 mm swept hand keeps the paddles close to the rod’s center line for les wobble during cranking. Available in 5.4:1 and 6.3: gear ratios, the Ryoga holds 110 yards of 20-pound test.

The latter is usually the choice for rapidfire presentations where your pitching or casting to specific targets; while the round models may interest those slinging big swimbaits and such.
