What sets it apart?

This system is really easy to use — even our kids were able to fill the pouch at the stream. After filling the pouch, screw the filter onto the pouch and squeeze the water into a bottle or drink directly from the filter. The company claims the system will filter 99.999% of all bacteria, including salmonella, cholera and E.coli, and also protozoa such as giardia and cryptosporidium.

Corey’s insight:

Although the filter was easy to use, it did take some manpower to squeeze the water from the pouch into our water bottles. The website says it is possible to fill a bottle in 20 seconds or less, but we found it does take slightly longer. If you are in a rush, this may not be the filter for you. It works well for our family, and we fill our bottles while we cook dinner at camp or have some downtime. Not only is the system easy to use, but it is lightweight and packs down very small, making it easy to carry on backpacking trips.
