Angler’s insight:

Spincast reels have historically offered a user-friendly option for kids and beginners who want the dependability of spinning gear with the speed and accuracy common to a traditional baitcaster. Let’s face it — the stress and hassle of the latter’s revolving-spool reel requiring precise thumb pressure can be intimidating, but spincast reels blend the element of control found in spinning reels with the push-button design that can help novice anglers prepare to step up to a baitcaster. In the meantime, Daiwa’s Goldcast is a well-made model that will serve a wide range of applications with the performance and dependability for which Daiwa is known.
