ANGLER’S INSIGHT:
Island Optics is the new kid on the block to the fishing industry, and they have the products to make a big impact. What really impressed me was the quality of the product at the price point they’re offered at. $68 for a pair of polarized glasses is simply a steal. Everything from the packaging to the glasses themselves make them look and feel like $200+ glasses.
I would put them up to the quality of some other high-end, popular glasses in the fishing industry. The best part of these glasses is that if I lose them, I can replace them without having to pay the price that other brands ask.
I’ve always liked a pair of glasses that were fashionable enough to wear off the water as well as functional when I am fishing. For me, the Crane frames felt the best. Paired with the Blue Flash Mirror lenses, these glasses are legit for fishing or just wearing around town.
The Noord frames offer a very similar frame style to that of the Crane.
The Angler frames are geared towards, you guessed it, anglers. The lens and frame design block out extra sunlight and glare giving you a direct line of sight through the lens to keep you focused on fishing.
If you’re in the market for new sunglasses, I wouldn’t hesitate to give island Optics a try. Pick a frame style and lens color you like and give them a whirl. Island Optics also offers prescription lenses and blue light glasses in the same frames.
