Semifinal Saturday surge with Downey

Take a look at Bob Downey's successful semifinal Saturday on St. Lawrence River!

Going into Day 3, Bob Downey Jr. was sitting in 8th place. He is starting on a fairly deep ledge in about 25′ or so.
Downey quickly hooks up.
A couple of loons popped up next to our boat; and that tells me there is bait fish just below us.
Downey hooks up with his second fish.
Downey starts moving quickly to find his school of big smallmouth.
Downey was trying hard to locate the school that he has been catching big smallies from all week by using his forward facing sonar.
He said these fish love to get out of the sun sometimes; and this sailboat should have held a few fish.
Derek Hudnall had 22 to 23 pounds by 10:30am. He was catching them on a large spy bait in deep water.
