Rough day for Robertson

Catch up with Day 1 leader Matt Robertson as he faces a tougher Day 2 of the 2022 Whataburger Bassmaster Elite at Pickwick Lake!

Going into Day 2 of the Whataburger Bassmaster Elite on Pickwick Lake, Matt “On ‘Em’ Robertson is headed 30 miles downstream to his first stop.
A little fog rolls out of the hills left over from last nights storms.
Locals brave the rough water from all the boat traffic Pickwick Lake has to offer.
Matt starts with a crankbait right off the rip.
Matt said he will be switching back and forth from cranks, to jigs, to swimbaits to wacky rigs all day.
The fishing starts off very slow; but this on fell for the wacky rig.
He said the scrounger is always a great choice for these types of lakes.
Matt said, “moving around and using my electroinics to locate the schools of fish is important.”
When we get to his second stop of the day, Scott Martin and Gussy are already there. They welcone the leader into their shell bed to get a piece of the action.
Scott Martin’s crew are dipping those sweaty toes in the water while getting beat down by the sun.
After watching Scott catch fish on every cast, he decides to swithc up lures.
After being forced to fish the lower end of the shell bed, Matt decides to go to another spot.
When in doubt, the spoon must come out.
Just a few of the 14 rods on the deck of Matt’s boat.
After running about 60 miles by 11am, Matt decides he better re-fuel since he is about to run another 60 miles round trip.
