Rivet rebounds after rocky start

See how Tyler Rivet fared on the final day of the 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Lake Oahe!

Tyler Rivet left the dock on Championship Sunday sitting in eighth place, almost 8 pounds behind out of the lead. He ran down the lake to below Moreau and began working a series of underwater humps and points.
Rivet’s morning had been slow, with onlly three smallmouth in the livewell by 10 a.m. Those fish weighed less than 5 pounds, so he had a lot of work to do.
Winds picked up overnight and turned out of the south, chopping up the lake. However, it was still a far cry better than the angry Lake Oahe of the second day of competition.
Finally, Rivet picked up and headed to another point farther down the lake.
Even the cattle seemed interested in the happenings on the water.
Rivet only gave that spot about 10 minutes before pulling the plug and heading south again.
He ran all the way to the Highway 212 bridge and began working the supports, watching his electronics carefully.
He hooked up after moving to his second pile …
… and his body language hinted at a good fish.
Sure enough, it was a solid 4-pounder – a bass that almost doubled his weight.
Celebration time!
