Catch up with Brandon Palaniuk and Brandon Card as they take on the first day of the 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Lake Oahe!

Catch up with AOY leader, Brandon Palaniuk, at the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Lake Oahe.
Palaniuk started his day making a run south and picking up the finess rig.
And periodically interchanging with a heavier, faster pace set up.
Get used to views this week, because they are never ending!
After a slower start to the morning, Palaniuk finally finds his first fish.
And after a long fight, fish number one is in the boat.
A smile of relief after breaking the ice. Fish number one in the box and four more to go for the AOY leader.
Palaniuk gets back into the water with the finess rig and stays committed to this spot.
After a little while longer with no luck, Palaniuk decided to make a short run just a rock throw away.
Spot number two and Palaniuk is back into the deeper water with the finess rig.
And it doesn’t take long for him to find fish number two.
It’s a good one and it’s in the boat.
The fishing hasn’t been fast for Palaniuk, but a good bag of these good give him a slow crawl up the leaderboard thorughout today.
Card is relying on his graphs while finess fishing deeper water.
Shortly after my arrival, Card hooks up.
A really good fish, and it’s in the boat.
This fish will cull helping card inch closer to the first place spot.
Almost immediately, he finds another.
A smaller size to this one and it will not help.
Card is commited to this spot and it is obvious as to why. A 17 pound bag and consistnent catches. If these fish replenish, Card will be a major threat this week.
Keep an eye on the action, because it should be interesting. Bags are close and the fishing is good. A fun week ahead at the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Lake Oahe.
