Highs and lows with Pirch, Cook and Feider

Go on the water with Clifford Pirch, Drew Cook, and Seth Feider as they navigate the highs and lows of Day 1 of the 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Lake Oahe!

Of the current Elite Series anglers who fished at Lake Oahe back in 2018, Clifford Pirch had the highest finish at 3rd place. This has made the Arizona pro a major favorite at the 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Lake Oahe.
Unfortunately, Pirch had a high boat number, so he knew his choice of starting spots may be limited.
He had no company at his starting spot, so he was able to roam the area freely, checking his forward facing sonar for signs of life.
Not long after we arrived, Pirch hooked up with a small keeper.
He quickly boxes his first keeper and gets back out there.
Pirch mentioned that his starting spot was not his primary area, so he made the move down the river to his best area.
Interestingly enough, Pirch had his console unit turned around so he could see what was behind the boat as well. On several occasions, he would notice something on the back graph and throw behind the boat.
“It’s a little concerning when they don’t bite right away,” said Pirch as he prepared to make a quick move.
Pirch idles over a rocky point in hopes of finding life.
Once Pirch began fishing again, the wind picked up.
After scanning around the area, Pirch hooks up with another keeper.
Still not the quality that Pirch is looking for, but getting a few fish in the boat early is always a good thing.
Pirch continues to search before making another move down lake.
From Pirch, we made a move over to Seth Feider, who was sitting inside the Top 10 on BassTrakk.
Just 20-yards or so away was Drew Cook.
Cook was inside the Top 5 at the time and compared notes with Feider.
“I’m done,” Cook said after leaving the area with a solid start.
Cook mentioned that the majority of his weight came from one spot.
Feider makes a move up lake.
