Fantastic day for Foutz

Follow Day 1 leader, Jacob Foutz as he sight fishes his way through Day 2 of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at St. Lawrence River

We found the leader, Jacob Foutz, sight fishing first thing this morning.
Even though the majority of these St. Lawrence smallmouth have already spawned, there are still a lot of fish up shallow.
After fising his second spawning flat, Foutz heads for the next stop.
Foutz chooses a dropshot with a 3″ worm as his main sight fising bait.
Foutz spots another post spawn fish.
Foutz hooks this 4 pounder and it comes loose. He made one more cast; and the same fish eats the same bait again.
These smallmouth are the most acrobatic of all the bass species.
After placing his second 4 pounder in the box, he immediately spots another one and goes to work.
After catching his first 5 pounder of the morning, Foutz decides it is a good idea to retie.
This 2.5 ponder won’t help him today.
One thing that affects derby fishermen, mind games. Foutz carefully starts to process what he needs to do next.
