Cory chases ’em down on Day 2 at St. Lawrence

Canada’s Cory Johnston already was well on his way to repeating his heavy Day 1 limit of bass when we caught up with him.
His waters were on the edge of Lake Ontario, on the Canadian side.
Johnston was, by and large, working deeper water than other anglers we observed.
He took a break to check his bass, which by 10 a.m. already were estimated to weigh more than 20 pounds.
He would work a relatively small area of boulders for 15 to 20 minutes, and then jump on plane to run to another area.
Several moves after we caught up with Johnston, the angler set the hook and began fighting another bass to the boat.
The smallie looked to be about 3 pounds, so Johnston didn’t even put the fish in the boat because it obviously wouldn’t help his weight. So he unhooked the fish and released it.
Johnston kept his eyes glued to his forward-facing sonar, looking for bass to target.
He was again rewarded with a bass.
This was another smaller bass, so it was quickly released.
