Benton’s early bite

Head out on the water early with Drew Benton as he gets to work on Day 2 of the 2023 Gamakatsu Bassmaster Elite at Lake Seminole!

Coming in as one of the hometown favorites, Drew Benton didn’t disappoint on Day 1 of the Gamakatsu Bassmaster Elite at Lake Seminole.
Benton started a foggy Day 2 sitting in sixth-place.
The Florida pro gave an offshore area a few minutes before moving back to the area that he did the majority of his damage on Day 1.
It’s no secret that Benton is one of the best sight fisherman on tour, so it wasn’t surprising to see him set up quickly into an area and start looking for them.
After working one over for a while, he sets the hook on a male that was occupying the bed.
He boxes this one up and immediately looks back to the bed to see if the female had moved in.
After giving this short stretch a little while with no luck, Benton makes a move to another area that he previously found some fish on bed.
Lake Seminole is full of stumps, which makes running the backwaters difficult.
Not long after getting set up on a pair of bass on bed, Benton hooks up with another male.
Just a few pitches later, Benton hooks up with a better one from the same bed – presumably the female.
Benton made his way down the bank a little bit further before pushing out to a bit of offshore grass.
This proved to be a solid move as Benton hooks up with his fifth keeper of the morning.
