Aoki began working the rocky banks, throwing a wacky rig but fishing it more as a power bait.
The banks of the pocket, which was behind a culvert, provided cover in the rocks and scattered wood.
Aoki’s front deck held all the tools he needed to make quick adjustments, although his money bait this morning remained the wacky rig.
Just as soon as he could check his bait, Aoki got it back in the water in his search for the first keeper of the day.
Less than 20 yards down the same bank, another bass sucked up Aoki’s lure. Unfortunately, it was another throwback.
