Afternoon upgrades with Downey and Pipkens

Bob Downey made a run up the leaderboard early on Day 3 of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Lake Oahe.
After sacking up a solid limit in the morning, Downey began to run from spot to spot in hopes of boxing a big one.
As soon as Downey made it to his next spot, Brad Whatley hooked up with a big one.
Whatley boats one of the biggest smallmouth that we have seen on the water all week.
Downey continues to drag his Carolina rig.
Fishing around other anglers has been pretty standard here at Oahe.
Moments later, Jay Przekurat joins the party.
After switching things up with a spinning rod, Downey hooks up.
Unfortunately, it’s a Northern Pike.
After fishing the area for a little while longer, Downey makes another move.
We made a move up river to find Chad Pipkens, who was having a fairly slow morning.
It appeared that Pipkens may be have been fishing the only shoreline cover on the entire lake.
He hooks up with a non keeper, and decides to move on shortly after.
After a short move, Pipkens hooks up with a good one.
After fighting the fish as carefully as possible, it unfortunately comes off.
Despite the disappointing loss, Pipkens gets back out there.
The very next cast, he hooks it up with an even bigger fish.
