Despite a much slower Day 2 at the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at St. Lawrence River, Ed Loughran still managed to take home the BassTrakk Contingency Prize and the additional $1,000 that comes with it.
The BassTrakk prize is rewarded to the angler whose BassTrakk estimates are closest to his official weight after two days of competition. To be eligible to win, the angler must catch a limit on both days of competition.
It’s no surprise to see that Loughran take home the BassTrakk Prize as the Virginia native has won the award six times over the course of the last two seasons. He was quick to mention that he would have won the prize at Pickwick as well if he would have caught a limit on Day 1 of competition.
Loughran’s estimates were spot on at the St. Lawrence River. After two days, his estimated weight was 36-7, which is exactly what he weighed on the official scales.
“I was a little off on the first day, so I knew that I needed to be a little light on the second day,” Loughran said. “The second day was terrible weight wise, so it was nice to get the BassTrakk Prize to at least pay for my truck gas.”
Here’s the BassTrakk Contingency Top 10, and how far off each was from his official weight:
