What’s it going to take to fish on Day 3

The top 47 anglers after the scales close today will move on to fish Day 3. We saw Hunter Shryock nab the bubble boy spot with 20-13 on Day 1. Chances are really good that the cutline will be north of 40-pounds, which is strong.

The weather here on Day 2 has been favorable, allowing anglers to run out onto Lake Ontario and move around at will. With several anglers catching the majority of their weight early yesterday, and even a few mentioning laying off a bit after they caught what they presumed to be big bags of smallmouth, it stands to reason that the foot may be a little more on the gas here on Day 2 after an amazing Day 1 weigh-in.

If a guy put 20-pounds in the boat yesterday and then laid off, he was sitting in the 50s and 60s at the end of Day 1. There will be very little laying up today. For that reason, as amazing as Day 1 was, there’s a good chance the weights will go up a little here on Day 2.

Let’s set the guesstimated bubble at  42-7.
