What’s it going to take?

We’re halfway through Day 3 and the current Top 10 cutline is held by Jeff Gustafson, with 46-13 according to BassTrakk. That will certainly rise throughout the day, but where will it land when the scales settle at the end of the Day 3 weigh-in?

Well, that’s what we’re about to take a shot at guessing.

The Day 2, 47-angler cutline was predicted to be 27-2, it landed at 27-9 as Bryan New squeaked in ahead of Seth Feider’s 27-5.

For the Top 10 cutline prediction, we’ll take a look at where it sat after Day 2. Greg DiPalma had 35-0 after two days to hold down the 10th place spot. That’s an average of 17-8 per day. Adding that average weight to the first two days’ weight, it comes out to 52-8. The question is, will today be better or worse than the first two days on average?

From what we’ve seen so far today, there seems to be a good bit of action going on out on the water. The water generation schedule is predicted to be similar to the first two days. And the anglers have a little more room to fish, with the field cut in half now compared to Days 1 and 2. We really weren’t expecting that to be the case, with local fishing pressure predicted to be bad on this beautiful Saturday. There’s no doubt there are a lot of boats on the water, but it appears as though the anglers have room to move around via Bassmaster LIVE.

But, 10 guys holding a steady 3-day average of 17-8 or better is hard to do anywhere. So, I’m going to predict the Top 10 cut weight to make it into Championship Sunday will fall somewhere around 51- pounds, call it 50-14 to be exact. Time will tell.
