Kyle Welcher has jumped into second place on BassTrakk, thanks to a 2-8 and a 3-8. He has 9 pounds total, and has taken advantage of Brandon Cobb’s first slip up of the season to take the lead for the Progressive Angler of the Year race. Cobb has fallen to 78th on BassTrakk.
Cobb started this event with a substantial lead in AOY, 49 points over Drew Cook. Welcher sat 72 points back after Lay Lake, in 5th place. Welcher’s stellar performance so far this week has sent him zooming by John Cox, Tyler Rivet and Cook all the way out in front of Cobb to take the lead.
