The clock is ticking for the anglers looking to chase down leader Luke Palmer. The wind is blowing, big time. Paul Mueller has packed up his rods, starting the long run back from Lake Moultrie. The rest of the Top 10 anglers are already on Lake Marion, but that doesn’t mean their ride in will be easy. It’s going to take a lot of their remaining fishing time for the anglers to make their runs back to the ramp.
But, a little time does remain. Mark Menendez caught two 6-pounders this morning on back-to-back casts. He could do that again late with a couple 7s and still make this interesting. We had all but given the trophy yo Hunter Shryock this time last week, then Drew Benton busted a 5-pounder with only minutes remaining to upset the apple cart. It’s not really anybody’s game to win at this point, but the victory doesn’t belong to Luke Palmer yet.
