Time is drawing nigh

We’re coming up on the last hour now. The boats are due in at 3:30 Eastern. Clark Wendlandt on the south end will have to put the rods away and head on in soon. But for the other 9 guys, some of the biggest fish all week have been caught in this last hour.

As it stands, Tyler Rivet is in the lead with roughly 86 pounds. Logan Latuso hangs in 2nd, under 5 pounds back. Wendlandt and Brandon Cobb are around 6 pounds off the mark. Steve Kennedy on the heels of a dismal day has just 6 pounds, 10 ounces in the well and sits in 5th, 6 and 1/2 pounds back.

Wendlandt has just a few minutes left to make something happen. But Latuso, Cobb and Kennedy could easily make a run at this one with two quick big bites. Latuso has already seen a flurry like that once today, punching up a 7- pounder and a 5- pounder in the same mat on almost back-to-back flips.

Even Carl Jocumsen back in 6th could make a late-day charge. He’s 12 pounds back, but has a 6-pounder, a 4- pounder and two small keepers in his bag. Add a 6- pounder and a 7- pounder and he moves into the lead. A tall order on many fisheries, not unheard of here.

It’s time to do it though if they’re going to get it done.
