“The worst luck in the world today buddy,” said Robertson as he scanned the shallow flat for his topwater.
Day 2 leader Robertson was contemplating diving into the lake, to try and track down a keeper that had just broken his braided line. Braided line doesn’t really break, at least not often and not as easily as it did for him here.
“I’m bout to baptize myself in this lake,” said Robertson.
It’s been a bad morning, to say the least. Very few bites, and two of the three have not gone well. The lost bait and keeper was one thing, but the 7-pounder that jumped all the way out of the water before tearing free from Robertson’s topwater earlier today was a whole other kind of hurt.
The self-proclaimed redneck is experiencing some major opposition this morning. But if I know anything about rednecks, and I do hailing from the great state of Alabama, we know how to put wheels back on. Robertson has the throttle wide open on a two-wheeled three-wheeler at the moment. But he’s put another small keeper in the boat since I started writing this blog post. Here’s to hoping he can keep her upright and straighten things back out.
