There is a melee of midday action to report. Jonathan Kelley, Austin Felix and Jacob Powroznik have all sprinted towards the top of BassTrakk in the last hour. Each with 18- to 19- pounds, Kelley sits in 3rd, Felix in 4th and Powroznik in 5th, all behind Mike Iaconelli who has had the lead the majority of the morning and Drew Benton who made an impressive mid-morning charge.
Felix has boated the leading Phoenix Boats Big Bass, weighing an estimated 7 pounds, 5 ounces. And he has the best chance to improve with three 2- pounders in the livewell.
So far, the start has been a little slower than we expected here on Day 1, but the heavier weights are starting to stack up. With a mix of pre-spawn and spawning action, the bite will only improve from here and this is going to continue to be a fun one to watch.
