When the morning herring bite seemed to whiff for Jacob Powroznik, the Yamamoto Pro put the flashy baits away, all four rods, and unveiled his sight fishing arsenal for the day.
With eight different rods on the deck, the Elite Series veteran began rotating through a selection of bass he marked throughout his practice.
When we entered this phase of the game plan, Powroznik had two bass for three pounds. Now, he has roughly 18-8 pounds and the returns on his day are admittedly better than when we got started.
With his smallest bass coming in at around 3-10, J-Pow knows he can be selective on what he fishes for with a shade over three hours left in his fishing day.
It’s got to be a bit comforting when you’re fishing against some of the best anglers on the planet and you can afford to mix practice with pleasure on tournament day.
