Johnathan Kelley sits in 16th currently with a limit for 12-8, at least one of his five fish being a largemouth. The St Lawrence river isn’t really known for its largemouth fishing, but Brock Mosley opened a lot of eyes here a couple years ago as he made a run at the win with 84-pounds, 2-ounces of green fish to finish third.
Kelley is the first we’ve see to be targeting largemouth so far, but the day is young. It’ll be interesting to see if largemouth can hold up here again this week, or if the light wind and perfect conditions opening up the big water will have the smallmouth far outpacing any impressive 20-pound bag of largemouth, should one be caught.
