Some good info from Ronnie Moore and the Bassmaster LIVE crew. When the scales settle on Championship Sunday, at least 41 Elite anglers will know they’ve made it to the Bassmaster Classic. It’s projected to take 525 AOY points for an angler to need to make it to the Classic. The top 20 in AOY prior to the start of this event already had that many points or more, so we’re considering them safe.
The second image shows the anglers that are on the bubble and the points they’d either gain or lose today based on BassTrakk as of about an hour ago. Some really big names flirting with disaster. Anyone below this group will have a hard time fishing their way in this week. That being said, anyone in the field could automatically punch his ticket with a win-and-you’re-in berth at this tournament, regardless of where he finishes in the AOY race. After this week, the Elite anglers (who signed up to fish them) will have only three more shots at the Classic through the remaining St. Croix Bassmaster Opens, with their win-and-in berths.
