Bass fishermen can be extremely territorial. Like a toddler with a toy, they don’t much like to share. Sometimes it can be done amicably, if both anglers know that the other found the same school of fish in practice. Or if both anglers start on a spot during the tournament. But you can go ahead and count on some harsh words for the fair-weather fishermen that wait until tomorrow to venture out into Lake Ontario.
Anglers like Scott Martin, Drew Cook, Jacob Foutz and Kyle Welcher have ventured deep into Ontario and staked their claims, without another boat in sight. This is based on the behind-the-scenes mapping we have access to through BassTrakk. There’s a chance a few anglers are closer to each other than they appear, since spotty service doesn’t always allow for GPS pings. But make no mistake, these guys will be very protective of their spots in Ontario tomorrow, after braving quite treacherous conditions to get to them today.
