And just like that, Taku Ito has pulled into 4th place on the BassTrakk scoreboard, vaulting into that position from 13th place. The biggest move was made by Carl Jocumsen, 54th on the Thursday leaderboard, and now in 9th on BassTrakk. Jocumsen is trying to make his first world championship, and to close that quest out here will make next week all about simply maintaining his position on the invite list.
And then there’s yesterday’s leader, Brandon Card, whose livewell was empty until just moments ago. Card’s 3 pound, 2 ounce smallmouth has him in second, and the catch came with drama for the viewers of Bassmaster LIVE. While fighting the fish, the line got tangled up with the shaft of his trolling motor. Card raised the motor up, grabbed the line, and hand-lined the fish aboard.
And compared to yesterday, there are only 4 anglers so far with double-digit catches on Basstrakk.
