Koby Kreiger is seeking shelter from the storms right now, while simultaneously trying to build on his Day 1 position of 12th place.
Though the majority of the dangerous weather blew through early this morning, the Elites have seen overcast conditions throughout the day, with rain picking back up around 11 AM for many anglers.
The topwater bite has been the biggest trend we’ve seen come out of this shift from sunny conditions on Day 1. Where a frog close to cover was the primary player yesterday, the topwater doing the most damage on Day 2 has been a walking style topwater like a Spook out in open water.
On Day 1, these same bass were schooling out in open water, but almost impossible to catch. Those fish have been more eager to commit to the topwater under these cloudy conditions, while the fish that were buried up in the cover yesterday seem to have vacated the premises with no sun to seek shelter from.
