This is a great look at what Santee Cooper Lakes are all about. This is a simultaneous shot from the four anglers currently atop our BassTrakk leaderboard. All of them are fishing cypress trees.
This image also illustrates the various conditions anglers are up against. Leader Luke Palmer is in a very protected area, as is Drew Cook. While Mark Menendez and Brandon Cobb are in more exposed areas. This will become increasingly more important as the day wears on and the winds increase. Menendez just mentioned he’s hoping to get another hour at most out of his main stretch before the wind wrecks it completely.
