Cooper Gallant is off to a quick start on Lake Seminole. Gallant is one of four anglers to finish in the top 20 at Lake Okeechobee last week: Logan Latuso 4th, Will Davis Jr 14th, Gallant 16th and Joey Ciffuentes III 19th. The 2023 Elite Series rookie class is looking strong right out of the gate.
Most rookies make their way to the Elite Series by way of the St. Croix Bassmaster Opens. but there’s a new format to the Opens for the 2023 season. The Opens EQ (Elite Qualifiers) are intended to better prepare anglers for the big leagues, while they’re making their way through the minors. Anglers vying for one of the nine Elite Series berths will have to commit to and fish all nine Opens in order to qualify.
